This role is responsible for leading project teams, managing budgets and schedules, coordinating field operations, and delivering projects that meet safety, quality, and financial expectations. You’ll also play a key role in growing our Heavy Civil Division across Central New York.
Responsibilities
• Lead Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, Project Engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, cost forecasts, productivity, and profitability.
• Coordinate field operations, staffing, equipment, trucking, and material procurement.
• Review plans, specifications, contracts, RFIs, and submittals.
• Identify project risks and scope gaps early. Prepare and negotiate change orders.
• Maintain strong relationships with owners, construction managers, engineers, and project partners.
• Run project meetings, track commitments, and report progress to company leadership.
• Oversee project completion and closeout.
Qualifications
• Extensive heavy civil construction experience; 20+ years preferred.
• Proven experience managing large-scale civil projects and project teams.
• Strong background in underground utilities, including water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and drainage.
• Experience with excavation, earthwork, site development, and subcontractor management.
• Strong leadership, communication, scheduling, and financial-management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, schedules, and contracts.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
• Strong computer and construction-management software skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work primarily from active project sites.
Experience with Procore, Bid2Win, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project is a plus.
Compensation
Competitive executive-level compensation package based on experience.
Up to $225K, based on experience
